  • Dear Parents, שיחיו

We hope you are having a most enjoyable and productive summer. As the Cheder faculty and administration are actively planning and preparing for the upcoming school year בעז"ה.

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome back our faculty members and to update you about new staffing developments at the Cheder.

We are pleased to announce that Rabbi Meir Thaler, will be assuming the position of 'כתה ו Rebbe at Cheder. Rabbi Thaler has teaching experience at Oholei Torah in N.Y., and is a graduate of the Teacher Induction Program (TIP) of the Menachem Education Foundation. Additionally, Morah Shaina Perman will assume the lead position of Pre1A Morah. Mrs. Perman has extensive experience in the elementary preschool and Pre1A level.

We would also like to welcome our new 1st Grade General Studies Teacher Mrs. Shapiro, who holds a Bachelors of Arts in English with High Honors and course work in child development and child education, and Rabbi Michel Klein M.A., who will be assuming position as the 4th Grade English Language Arts Teacher. Rabbi Klein is currently completing his Phd in music composition, has several years of classroom experience and has extensive training in essay writing and the writing structure process. We also welcome back Coach Shmuli Thaler as our P.E. Teacher.

Please join us in welcoming our new faculty members to our most dedicated staff of Mechanchim and Mechanchos.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend out gratitude to Morah Mushky Rosenfeld, and Rabbi Sendy Labkowsky, and Mrs. Berkovitz, all dedicated Mechanchim/os who have contributed much to the Cheder over the past few years. We wish them much Hatzlacha in their endeavors going forward.

Additionally please find the parent packet for the upcoming academic year. Included in the packet is:

    • Parent - Student Handbook - Please take note of the form to be signed online or by printing out and returning to the Cheder indicating that you've read and reviewed the handbook - Parent-Student Handbook 2017/2018

    • Dress Code, Book list, Supply List, and School Calendar can be found at the end of the Parent Student Handbook.

    • Please be advised that the dress code will be enforced, therefore, we are once again providing links for black shoes and sneakers that are dress code appropriate. We have taken the time to do this research, we ask for parents to be supportive of the dress code by adhering to the shoes/sneakers policy.

Please note all Pre1A, 1st Grade students, 7th Grade students and all new attending students must send their updated Immunization Form prior to 1st day of Cheder. It is now required by California Law for all children attending school to be immunized.

Additionally please note the following schedule change: Friday summer dismissal (until Sukkos, and again from Pesach until the end of the year) will now be at 1:45 PM instead of 2:00 PM.

Looking forward to another productive and successful school year. Wishing you a happy and healthy rest of the summer.

    Rabbi M. Greenbaum - Menahel
Mrs. Y. Blauner - General Studies Principal
